The Mounds November 2008

Drove up to The Mounds Off Road Vehicle Park in Mt. Morris, MI this past Sunday (November 2nd, 2008).  I think it was the fifth time I've taken my Jeep up there since I bought it a year ago; however, this was my Dad's first trip in his new Jeep up there.  He's had it a few months now and it was about time he got it dirty. The Fall colors were quite spectacular which made some nice photo opportunities.

Anyway, we took our Jeeps up to The Mounds and they both crawled around the park with relative ease.  I have quite a bit more protection under my Jeep than my dad so I was a little more aggressive than him and got hi-centered a couple times where I neeed to use the winch (perhaps a lift and tires in my future?).

I also took a stab at the rock garden that was added this year. It is separated into three stages. The first stage is supposedly for stock vehicles, the second for modified vehicles and the third stage is for pro vehicles. I gave the first stage a shot, but backed off after about one and a half vehicle lengths into the rock garden. I can't really imagine someone taking a stock vehicle across this without causing some damage. There were some vehicles driving on the “pro” stage which was pretty cool, but I didn't get a chance to snap any photos.

Speaking of photos, below are some of the one's I did take. My dad is driving the Black 2-door JK Rubicon and I'm driving the Jeep Green Unlimited 4-door JK Rubicon.
